David Woods interviewed NAIFA CEO Dr. Susan Waters on The Wealth Channel about the proposals to be brought before the NAIFA National Council at the Annual Conference next month. When describing the proposal to change the NAIFA Board selection process, Dr. Waters said this:
“The proposal by the Board of Trustees suggests that our governance committee, which acts as a nominating committee, could be the place where people could put their names forward in a more private manner to a smaller group of people. We hope and think that we will have a bigger pool of people stepping forward to try to recommend the best and the brightest (leaders) for NAIFA. … It will not prevent someone from running from the floor.” Said Woods: "That (amendment) would be consistent with almost every other organization that I know.”
